Information about the IMPEX release 5.3.1
Release Type: Patch
Release date: 2025-05-30
The IMPEX 5.3.1 release
This is a patch release fixing several issues. The most important one is forcing better log rotation on some system logs and turning off logging of blocked packets in the local firewall. On some sites with lots of broadcasts the firewall would constantly log blocked packets which filled the log partition, causing USBProtect services to fail since they could not log.
USBProtect fixes
- Fixed an issue in Trend Micro log parser for malware found in archives that made Trend fail to mark it as malware
- Turned off logging of all blocked packets in the station firewall since this caused the logs to fill the disk at some installation sites
- Force rotation of system logs when it gets above a certain size instead of the system default of once a week
- Fixed a bug in the network status view which sometimes incorrectly complained about name resolution problems
- Fixed another bug in the network status view which sometimes incorrectly claimed the station was not registered
- Offline: fixed a bug in the upgrade path where the checking if the system was being used before allowing upgrade was incomplete
- Offline: fixed an issue where restoring selinux labels could sometimes cause the offline upgrade to exit too early with an error
USBProtect changes
- Specify UTC on the paper receipt to make it clear the time is UTC and not local time
Datalock fixes
- Force rotation of system logs when it gets above a certain size instead of the system default of once a week
- Fixed an issue in Trend Micro log parser for malware found in archives that made Trend fail to mark it as malware
ICC Fixes
- Fixed a GUI spacing issue in the config card
